Ini Capini's Impromptu V-Day Card Extravaganza

Which is better....scrapping alone or scrapping with a bunch of crazy obsessive dedicated neurotic scrappers?

A bunch of scrappers of course even if they are crazy. Crazy can be good. Nothing wrong with being crazy. Being crazy can keep you sane especially when it comes to this hobby which for so many is an escape from the craziness that is life. Okay have I used the word "CRAZY" enough in this post? I think so, let's move on.

This post is in honor of a new friend who so graciously invited a bunch of scrappers to her home and lived to tell the tale. I am speaking of no other than our own Ms. Ini Capini!!! We scrapped on Sunday afternoon at Ini's home, ate, laughed and I even made a card. Well a half of a card I actually finished it at home. Ini's theme for the get together was vintage valentine's day cards. I don't know how vintage my card is. I would guess it is more of a shabby chic style.

A big shout out to my scrappy girls Rosie, Christine, Julie, via apple i-chat Salima and my dear friend Perla who was unable to make it. We missed you girl! And of course the hostess herself, the fabulous Ini Capini. I humbly bow to your creative awesomeness.

Utensils up! Now say cheeeeeese...

I asked them to do something crazy....this is the best they came up with

A special celebrity guest appearance via i-chat webcam by Pocahontis aka Salima-mima

Doesn't she look adorable.

and of course no scrap meet is complete without.....COFFEE. Who can scrap without coffee? Not me.

It's a Strawberry Birthday!

This strawberry birthday card is for Sophia's 1st birthday. She's so sweet and delicious it immediately came to mind that a strawberry would be perfect. I forgot to take a picture of the inside which said: Have a sweet birthday! Enjoy : )

Shadowbox Frames

I had been wanting to make a name frame for my godaughter Sofia's room. It was supposed to be for her birthday which was in November but of course I am way late and finally finished it New Year's day. The colors in her room are plums, lavenders and pinks so I incorporated those in the papers and embellishments I chose. I hope it matches her room. I really like how it turned out. I hope her mom thinks it was worth the wait LOL.

I bought a shadow box frame so that I could make the name and embelishments 3D. The frame is matted to 11 x 14 size. I also made a smaller one which was matted to 5 x 7. So what do you think?

Enjoy & thanks for looking : )

Christmas Cards 2008

Awww Christmas. My favorite holiday and time of year. It's cold out and you get to be all bundle up in sweaters, scraves, hats and boots. Plus and this a big plus you get time off from work. I love it!!! I am sooooo a winter person. Anyway, I digress. So as you may or may not know my latest obsession in the crafting world is owls. I {heart} owls. My friend Salima isw sick and tired of them and I think that's my fault he he. So where was I, oh yes owls. Well in light of my owl craze I decided to make my first ever handmade christmas cards with ......you guessed it owls!!!!

I stamped out the owl from Cornish Hertiage Farms, Kim Hughes owl rubber stamp set. I'm a big fan of Kin Hughes whimisical stamps. I colored in the owls with Kohi Nor pencils and gamasol, stickle the santa hat and added white applique for the fur. I also used American Crafts cardstock, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, holly branch is from Cricut's Joys of the Season cartridge, red buttons, gossy accents used on owls beak and toes, charms from Oriental trading and embossed the red paper at the top with my trusty Cuttlebug. Ribbon is from my stash.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays : )

Jaylen's Birthday Card

So it was Princess Jaylen Diana's 3rd birthday on Dec 23rd! Woo Hoo! She is growing so fast and so sassy. She loves princess' so of course I had to make her a princess dress card for her birthday. I cut the dress with the cricut from Paper Dolls cartridge using DCWV glitter acrdstock. The glitter doesn't show up to well in the photos. After I made it I thought a dress shaped card would have been better but I was too tired to do another card. Oh well, next time! Enjoy : )

Birthday Cards

I'm almost always late with birthday cards, but I'm trying to get better at it. My dad calls me for my niece's and nephews birthday to send them cards as well so if I were smart I would prepare a ton of cards ahead of time. Alas, I'm not that bright I guess. Hey! I just thought of something....I should make extra cards to have around....LOL. Here are a few birthday cards I made for my family recently. Enjoy : )

Dude It's your Birthday: nephew Javie's 12th birthday.

Pink butterfly card: Mother's birthday.

Hi Cupcake!: Jaylen's birthday (from my parents)

Bookmark Swap

I participated in a bookmark swap back in August (late posting....I know). We were to make 20 bookmarks, send them to the swap creator and she inturn would send you back 20 different bookmarks, one from each person in the group. It was a fun project and I'm indebted to my cricut for allowing me to cut 20 shapes of whatever I wanted. The owl and butterfly bookmarks are what I made (you know I had to include an owl) and the pictures with the assortment of bookmarks is what I receieved in return. Enjoy and thanks for peeping : )
